USB connection fail Windows 10

Another pain in the neck with USB connectivity on Windows 10 .
In some METAGRID official posts there is kind of full explanation of how to reconnect iPad according to their system requirements and iTunes.
Despite all its done correctly METASERVER still has bugs on connectivity.

( It does work occasionally but most of the time its not).

Here is a short video of the trouble:

I get this too. Really strange that MGP knows to start scanning when you I plug the iPad back in. It definitely knows hat there is a PC there. It just doesn’t see Metaserver. ‘Refresh’ has never ever works here, it’s a useless button.

Maybe try:

  1. Launching MGP on only 1 iPad. If it connects, launch on the other iPad. Then maybe swap which iPad you start first.
  2. Unplug the USB at the PC, not the iPad (I do this everyday and it works here)
  3. Try different combinations of unplugging, restart Metaserver, re-plug, relaunch MGP. Mix these up. I found that certain combinations jolted MGP into action.
  4. Get a second hand Mac Studio.

Thanks for the suggestions, doing it the way u described but i think it should be fixed somehow
( fingers crossed). Its only Metagrid Pro and the only soft in my life which behaves this way.
I dealt before with Macs and to be honest can not work with them , there are really good for someone, ( i personally have 2 Ipads and Iphone) but for the working machine i prefer PC.
Anyhow i hope we see the light in the tunnel with Metaserver bugs.

Another thing to check upon Metaserver is checking CPU temperature too, in some cases it fries my main CPU from 67 Celsium to 85 , after disabling Metaserver it goes back to 67.

This is 100% Windows problem, I had it for years plugging a USB printer to USB1 then unplug after shutdown and replug to USB 3 and doesn’t work, plug to USB1 and it works, then unplug and replug to USB3 while computer is on it works. Same happens with audio interfaces. I would use wifi connection for Metaserver and forget USB.

Hi, thanks for reaching out, Usb specifically used to charge the batteries, cause MGP drains them in 3 hrs of working time.

Did not have problems with my 2 audiocards, and other stuff like Ipads Cubase Remote, Avid Controll or TouchPortal, i still reckon it’s related to Metaserver.

( Everything including Itunes recognizes both ipads spot on).

I also keep mu iPad always connected for charging purposes but connect with wifi, try that and see id there is any performance change, today’s wifi is really fast

Disagree. I use Remote Mouse on my iPad and it connects every time. It’s Metaserver for sure. And once you have used USB, wifi is unbearable, even if only one out of ten commands doesn’t transmit. I send thousands of commands to Cubase and Bome MIDI Translator every session.

We are working on fixing the USB Windows connectivity for two iPads - we know what happens but we don’t know why - I hope we will have the solution ready by the end of this week.

Hi Przemeck, thanks a lot, i know its tough to tick all the boxes with fixes.

Another thing i found when connected via WI-FI the RAM is at should be only 45 MB in total. I think its a huge USB thing both connectivity and RAM.
