Metaserver 5.1.1 + Metagrid Pro 1.6.5 (build 28574) first kept diosconnecting and after resseting the PC won’t connect at all. WiFi connection, Windows 11, AMD 7950X.
No previous versions of Metagrid and Metaserver for Windows are available and I believe they should be. This is the second time I’m encountering serious issues and can’t roll back to stable version.

They need to understand that we are using this app for our work. We need a way to roll back. Updating this app has just become too risky.
I’m on Windows and had to go 3 months with version 1.5.6 disconnecting every 2 minutes and losing incoming MIDI every other minute. And here we are 5+ versions later with the same issue.
I totally agree with the above. Metagrid Legacy doesn’t work either with Metaserver. And this is the 2nd time in months for me too. This time, I was very careful to make a back up of the prior version.
I can confirm that the new version of Metaserver and the app behaves identically on four of our studio machines: not even possible to connect.
This means serious issues and delays for our work. If the problem persists, we’ll be probably forced to move to Touch Portal asap, we became too dependent on Metagrid Pro. It happens for the second time in last three months.
Let me put it this way, as a really dedicated, long term Metagrid user: the tempo of the changes in the app itself is insane, sometimes impossible to catch up to. The way it’s (not) tested and released is doubtful, so to say.
The fact that the app updates itself without my consent and that I can’t roll back to the previous version, also in terms of Metaserver, is a seriously irresponsible practice and a no go for me.
Hey, Metagrid team, hear me out: think about testing the things out a bit more thorougly before the release. Make it possible to roll back to a stable version. Right now we’re all f*ed here and we seriously don’t like it.
Greetings everyone, have a great and productive day anyway!
How did you do the backup, just by backing up your iPad? Are you using iTunes?
Somehow, when restoring from a back up in iTunes, the iPad downloads older versions of MGP. Not sure how this is managed by the App Store. And neither do the guys at Metasystems. Which left me a little wary of the whole process .
Hi Guys - just release the hot fix build that will enable you to roll back MetaServer to 5.0 to get you back and working. We will give more info on the situation later today.
Guys, I FOUND THE WAY TO CONNECT AND LAUNCH METAGRID AGAIN! Here’s what I did:
I used old Metaserver 4.0 version provided by ivan_jochner.
I uninstalled Metagrid completely and made a clean install.
I restored my grids, using iDrive backup from early February.
I can get back to normal work.
What I’ll do for the future is that I will automatically store all Metaserver versions on my own. My strong suggestion to Metagrid team is that you don’t remove older Metaserver versions from you website, you keep 3 versions back, guys.
If you would be so kind to make more tutorial videos for beginners to advance users about Grids, your videos are very rare and useful!!!
( Of course i understand you are busy with studio work, but nevertheless waiting patiently))
Its so time consuming to learn first professional playing, then composing, sound engineering etc. There are no 10 lives to manage everything and on the top of that sort out buggy new software.
Whoah, you’re from Ukraine, greetings, my friend! I did my vids in close cooperation with Metagrid team, if they get back for more, why not.
I even sent them my grids for Cunase/Nuendo and RX for a review and releasing in their store, but the guys seem very busy themselves, I got no reply at some point.
Hey, Metagrid team! One more issue: while one of our machines managed to run Metagrid Pro with Metaserver 4.0, another wto machines curently on heavy duty aren’t able even to connect with Metaserver 5.0. When replacing Metaserver with version 4.0, they both connect, but… Cubase/Nuendo don’t reply. All the XMLs selected properly, all midi set up properly.
same here, also AMD, but Ryzen 9 8945HS and Metagrid Pro 1.6.6 Hotfix (Rollback). But metagrid still reconnects every 2 minutes. Also some Labels in Fader Objects are not shown in the grid.
Ah nice! Yes, the disconnecting issue is solved. But the Fader Names are still not shown inside the faders. I assume, that this will be an iPad app fix?
