MetaGrid Pro 1.6.5 Released!

MetaGrid Pro 1.6.5 – More Power, More Control!

This update brings a game-changing integration with Cubase MIDI Remote, giving you precise, bi-directional control over your sessions. Plus, Dracula skin support is here, adding a sleek, dark aesthetic to your grids. We’ve also fine-tuned iCloud sync and fixed several key issues to keep your workflow smooth.

IMPORTANT: Requires MetaServer Mac 5.2.0.2636 and MetaServer Win 5.1.1.0.

If the auto-update fails, go to www.metagrid.app/support, download the latest version for your platform. We are still working with Apple on the fix for application signing.

NEW:

:art: Native Dracula Skin Support – Now you can apply the Dracula skin to grids and grid objects

:control_knobs: Cubase MIDI Remote Integration:
• Two new MIDI Remote devices: Selected Channel & Commands (See our DAW & MIDI Setup Guide or watch the video on YouTube for setup details)
• Two new workspaces (Standard/Dracula) featuring Selected Channel grids, installed automatically if no Cubase profile is detected. If you already have one, you can import workspaces from Presets in Content Manager
• Fully customizable bi-directional parameter control via faders
• Variable parameter names displayed on buttons, faders, and labels
• Scene/grid switching based on the selected track in Cubase

For more information on the MIDI Remote integration - see:

https://metagrid.app/cubase/

To download our new workspaces for Cubase, in the Content Manager select your Cubase profile, and in the Workspaces area select Import > Presets and select Cubase or Cubase - Dracula. This will import our new workspaces without messing with your current Cubase/Nuendo controllers.

IMPROVED:

:cloud: iCloud Drive Custom Icon Sync – Seamlessly sync custom graphics by placing them in your iCloud folder

FIXED:

:level_slider: Snapshots for Faders now work as expected
:repeat: Paste Off State → On State / All Settings for switches now correctly pastes gradient component info, text color, and text size
:leftwards_arrow_with_hook: Layout Undo/Redo now behaves correctly
:straight_ruler: Resizing objects at the bottom-right corner no longer causes them to disappear due to iOS gesture conflicts. A popup will now prompt you to move the object before resizing

Enjoy the update and take your control to the next level! :rocket:

Can you run the new generic remotes simultaneously with the older generic remotes? I’ve got a lot of customization in the older generic remotes that I don’t want to lose.

Do you mean MetaSystem 1 and MetaSystem 2 xml files? If so, I am afraid it would be problematic if you keep these GRs and implement the new MIDI Remote MetaGrid Pro Command device. But if you are talking about metasystem macros xml - yes, you can safely keep them.

Yes, the previous grids used 5 generic remotes which allowed a whole host of midi logical editor commands, custom visibility scenes, custom macros, etc. These 2 new generic remotes seem to only work for the new “selected channel” grid. Is that correct? Will I lose all of the functionality from the previous MGP grids if I install these new generic remotes?

All your customisations should be in Metasystem macros GR devices - you should keep them as they are - make sure you have them saves and ba backed up. I assume that you haven’t customised metasystem1, 2 and 3 xml files, right?

Haven’t gotten into the new features yet but two things I’m noticing in my exisiting grid:

  • all the fader titles no longer appear in my custom grids, even though “hide fader title” is unchecked.
  • I’m getting frequent re-connects (restoring connection appears, connects successfully, and a few minutes later it occurs again and again)*
  • appears to be isolated to UDP mode, TCP Mode seems more stable
