Lost MetaGrid Classic subscription after upgrade to Metagrid Pro

1. Summary/Title
_A brief summary Hi emailed a few months back and got reply saying someone would get back to me but not heard since and no response to further emails - has email address changed?

Got Metagrid around 6 years ago and upgraded to Pro a couple of years ago - wanted to use the original metagrid on an old ipad but it now says i have to pay £25 to download - would i still have access to the original metagrid after upgrading?of the issue (e.g., “No macro triggered on button tap in Logic”)._

Metagrid Pro and MetaGrid Classic are separate applications. Can you make sure that you are logged to your iPad with the same the Apple ID you used to buy MetaGrid Classic? Perhaps you have bought them with different IDs?

hi thanks for reply - both with same account as i’ve only one apple account i set up when i got an iphone a while back in 2012

This is really strange - App Store should “remember” all your purchases. Can you please see if MetaGrid Classic is on the list of your purchased applications in the App Store on your old iPad?

On your old iPad if it shows to purchase (instead of download icon)

  • reboot to make sure it has a clean connection with the iPad/your account/the App Store;
  • instead of searching for Metagrid at the iOS App Store, go to your Purchased app library, find it there and install from there.

Double-check your purchases:

Make sure you select the appropriate date/year range and a few years on either side if you are not sure (or even if you are :slight_smile: )

Check if you might have used Family sharing (someone else in your family purchased it and shared it to you).

You also would have been sent a receipt from Apple, search for it, if you find it, contact Apple to check at their end for your account.

Hey thanks - checked purhase history and found it! Same account always use for Apple - bought it on 17/1/19

That’s good news! Did it install and function without problems?
(Currently there are two MG server options with the older one for both MGP and Classic. This may change in the future I presume.)

So it still asked me to pay - did some googling and turns out it got hidden somehow on the ipad. When i unhid it it was available to download - thanks for helping me figure it out
