Cubase-Missing Key Commands in Metagrid Pro

Am I overlooking something?

Is there a sticky here for this type of thing?

I have used Metagrid Legacy for years, and recently upgraded to Pro. And I will add that based on the issues I read here, 99% of topics I know nothing about. I’m referring to a simple button with a simple key command.

It appears there several missing Cubase Key Commands in Metagrid. I have also written to Metagrid support with no reply.

An example: These Key Commands were first released with a new feature in Cubase 14. I would have assumed that Metagrid developers can obtain a free copy of Cubase 14 and Cubase 15 and keep the added Key Commands updated with the new Cubase features? Or am I missing something?

16 available inserts to open or close a VST and all seem to be missing in Metagrid Pro? I rarely use more than 4-5 but 16 are available.

These are pretty handy to open or close the GUI of a plug. So, until such time I assign a Keyboard Shortcut to a button. But there appear to be several other missing Cubase Key Commands, that unlike opening/closing multiple GUIS, have unique functions.

What am I missing? A new chain type function I have not read about? I thought my reason was that I was still using Metagrid Legacy. However when I updated to Pro, it’s the same situation.

Hi Greg,

The editor display for inserts is handled by our MIDI Remote Selected Channel script. With the new MetaServer 6.0 for Windows our MIDI Remote integration is going to be available for Windows as well.

Great. I hope there is a user guide to explain this when it’s released for Windows? Will it work on Windows 10 as well?

When you say “midi remote selected channel script” is this referring to the Cubase Midi remote? I’m still using Metagrid with 4 Cubase generic remotes…the thing Steinberg threatens to “depreciate” yet I don’t think they will do that anytime soon, not the newer designed midi remote.

I thought some MG users might somehow be using the newer Cubase Midi remote, therefore my question here.

What about all other Cubase Key Commands besides display inserts? Should I assume all Cubase 15 Key Commands is also available in Metagrid Pro? I didn’t keep a list, but coming from Legacy, I remember a few, but need to check with Metagrid Pro.
