Cubase Plugin Manager Support available in MetaGrid Pro 1.7

In MetaGrid Pro 1.7, Cubase integration gets a major upgrade.

Thanks to the new Cubase Plugin Manager API available in recent versions of Cubase and Nuendo, you can now browse your entire plugin and virtual instrument collection directly from your iPad and insert plugins into the selected track with a single tap.

In this video you’ll learn how to:

• Create buttons that insert Cubase plugins and instruments
• Browse plugins by category, vendor, or collection
• Search your entire plugin library instantly
• Insert plugins into a user-selected slot, the first free slot, or a specific slot
• Automatically open plugin editors after insertion
• Build complete plugin chains with a single button
• Use the new AI Builder to generate plugin control workspaces automatically

Whether you’re building mixing workflows, mastering chains, sound design templates, or instrument collections, this new integration dramatically reduces the time spent navigating Cubase menus and lets you focus on creating.

So far I have been loving MetaGrid (on Mac).
I recently moved to Cubase and wanted to set up buttons. However I add the Cubase Plugin, I receive this :

I am sure I am missing something. Just not sure what. Thank you all!

Have the same on Windows 11 Pro

Have the same problem on Windows 10 Pro

Cubase 15.0.30

Midi Remote api is v 1.3 However, I think that should be automatically tied to C15.0.30. Download the latest Cubase version and you should get the latest Midi Remote API. Is that not true?

Going further, I have no clue where in C15 you can find the Midi Remote api version? I can’t find it in the Steinberg Download Assistant either.

Where is this “updated midi remote script” shown in the video?
Is this installed with the latest Metagrid Pro version?
Do I need to look in the Cubase Midi Remote somewhere?
Do I need to import a script somewhere?

It would help if these questions are addressed. Maybe another thread here I can’t find?

@greggybud The script is installed through MetaServer only at this very moment. C15.0.30 has got the latest MIDI Remote API and it supports the Cubase Plugin Manager.

But you need to have MetaGrid Pro Selected Channel MIDI Remote script running in Cubase to get the list of the plugins.

I’ve got the Midi Remote for selected channel, I can see my insert/sends/ but with the “Cubase Plugin” scene i’ve the same screen “no plugin available…” & “Couldn’t load plugins”…

Sorry, it seems I’m completely lost. Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Attached is my midi remote manager. I do not see a Metagrid Pro Selected Channel midi remote script? I’m on C15.0.30. As shown, I’m only using a Behringer X-Touch One and a VMK 188+ as controllers.

In MetaServer do I need to add something in Port Assignments? Currently, only Metasystem MIDI and Cubase Metasystem Cubase are used as input and output ports. I see Metasystem Cubase Sync, but have not assigned those input or output ports. I’m not sure what Metasystem Cubase Sync really is?

In the Cubase Plug In Manager I don’t see anything related to Metagrid or Metaserver.

In the latest Metaserver folder you have a folder for Midi Remote Scripts. Do I use these?

Since they are .js files, should I copy them to Documents \ Steinberg \ Cubase \ MIDI Remote \ Driver Scripts \ Local?

IIRC, from the Cubase Midi Remote Manager, choosing the “add surface” tab only imports .midiremote files. To Import a 3red party script meaning .js or .json I need to import directly from Documents \ Steinberg \ Cubase \ MIDI Remote \ Driver Scripts \ Local

However when I do that, I do not see any .js files. If I change the type from Steinberg Midi remote script to Any Type, the .js files appear, but they will not import.

Apologizes for asking stupid questions, but the Midi remote is an area where I set stuff up and forget it because it typically continues to work in the background. Sort of like audio interfaces once they are set up…set it and forget it.
