I’m using a grid I created for Cubase.
Some of the buttons i’ve created for Selected Track are able to get their values from Cubase while others are not.
For example when I select a track the Mute, Solo, Record Enable buttons on my grid all change depending on if those settings are on/off in Cubase.
However, things like Read, Write and Metronome On/Off do not update the buttons on my grid.
I have both Commands and Selected Channel Midi Remote installed and running in Cubase.
I’m running the latest version of MetaGrid Pro and MetaServer.
Thanks for the detailed report. I checked the Cubase MIDI Remote implementation and confirmed why the controls behave differently.
Mute, Solo, and Record Enable are implemented as bidirectional values in the Selected Channel script, so Cubase can send their current state back to MetaGrid Pro.
Read and Write are currently available only as one-way actions in the Commands integration. They are not yet included as values in the Selected Channel script, so their state cannot update a MetaGrid Pro switch. Bidirectional Read and Write feedback has now been added to the MetaGrid Pro 1.7.4 hotfix scope.
Metronome is different: it already has a bidirectional Selected Channel mapping through the Cubase Sync port. To check why it is not updating in your grid, please post a screenshot of the Metronome switch’s ON and OFF external-source settings, including the selected MIDI port, channel, controller number, and values. Please also confirm whether you are using macOS or Windows and the exact Cubase version.
That will show whether the Metronome switch is listening to the wrong source or whether there is a separate Cubase MIDI Remote feedback issue.
My MetaServer runs on my new M5 Pro Macbook Pro running the latest version of MacOS.
I’m running the latest version of Cubase (15.0.30).

Also note that everything was working fine on my old iMac (However it was using the GenericRemote setup with the 5 xml files)
Status update: bidirectional Cubase Selected Channel Read and Write automation feedback has been implemented and is currently included in the MetaGrid Pro 1.7.4 Hot Fix beta.
This post is primarily an informational update for everyone following this issue. If you are already a member of the beta program, you are welcome to verify the correction and report the result here. If you are not a beta tester, no action is required—the correction is planned for the upcoming production hotfix.

Please reinstall or update the Selected Channel MIDI Remote script through MetaServer, restart Cubase, and test Read and Write state changes in both directions. The separate Metronome report still needs the exact ON/OFF external-source configuration if it remains reproducible.
