Using MetagridPro with MOTU DP 11 - Control Surface Setup - HUI causes DP Clips Window Hang (BeachBall) on my Mac (Intel - 32 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 Ventura 13.7.6 (22H625))
When I delete all control surfaces in DP, the issue goes away. Saw this issue on MotuNation as well. It may be a DP issue, but MOTU has not seemed to fix it.

Bottom line: I can’t yet use MGP w DP if I have to switch into Clips window from any other DP window. I can only use MGP in Clips window alone without switching to Tracks or any other DP window.

Is there an alternative to HUI control surface set up in Digital Performer to get MGP MIDI messages across?

I have just discovered a workaround for the Scene Switching in Clips I can use withoutadding any control surfaces to DP. We can just send the default key commands in Digital Performer from within a grid in MetaGridPro. I can program MetaGridPro to send these commands as keystrokes. No need for the HUI. No more DP switching into Clips window hangs!

Can you create a screen video of what you are trying to do?
I have been using MGP for years within DP and I have never needed to setup MGP as a control surface within DP. Perhaps you are doing something with MGP and DP that has not occurred to me. Would you mind sharing what you are doing?

I had been using HUI control surface with a Eucon iPad interface. The problems began there. MGP can send commands directly to DP without the control surface setup. All fixed. Thanks for your help,

Why are you using MGP as a HUI control surface in DP?

I realize I didn’t need it. It was a leftover from trying to get Avid Control working with Eucon.
