I am at a bit of a loss here, can’t connect on usb or wifi
1.7.7 and 6.1.6
USB PeerTalk connection refused for device 1; iPad is connected by USB, but MetaGrid Pro is not accepting the USB connection, retrying in 3.0s (attempt 4) [MetaUSBServer,No context]
finally connected via wifi, but finding a powered solution to USB plus data has been a real challenge, still not a satisfactory solution
Hi,
Thanks for the update—glad you managed to connect over Wi-Fi.
The log shows that MetaServer detects the iPad over USB, but its attempt to connect to MetaGrid Pro is refused. That alone doesn’t tell us whether the problem is in the app’s USB connection handling or the cable/hub setup.
Could you tell us your iPad model, iPadOS and macOS versions, and how everything is connected—including the hub or adapter model and where power is supplied?
For a quick comparison, please connect the iPad directly to the Mac with a cable that supports data, bypassing any hub or adapter. Keep the iPad unlocked with MetaGrid Pro open, accept any “Trust This Computer” prompt, then fully quit and reopen MetaGrid Pro and MetaServer. Does USB connect in that setup, and does the iPad appear in Finder?
If it still fails, please send support packages from both apps using their Logging/Logs → Send to Support options and mention this forum thread. Please note the approximate test time so we can match the two logs.
This will help us separate the USB connection issue from the additional requirement to provide power through a hub.
