I kept getting the ‘Connecting…’ screen which never actually connects. And then one iPad eventually connected via USB after multiple unplugs/re-plugs only to have the other one start searching again. MADDENING!!!
In my own experience, when connection turns into a game of whack-a-mole, I shut off my iPads and restart the computer. That solves it every time. I’m on a Mac, though and if I remember correctly, you’re on a Windows machine so I’m not positive that’d be useful for you. But maybe??
