Further investigation reveals that Metagrid app on the Mac crashes after a few presses on the Logic Media Composer Grid. I have to force quit and open again.
The log reports say the following…
Missing Elements: The repeated Collection Item: nil suggests the app expects items in a collection or resource that aren’t loading correctly. This could be due to missing files, permissions issues, or incorrect file paths.
UI Focus Issues: The application logs many focus-related entries without visible windows, which might mean it’s trying to interact with UI elements that are unavailable or incorrectly referenced.
Check Dependencies: Ensure all resources or files the app depends on are correctly installed and accessible.
I had the same problem as you. For some reason, I realized I wasn’t able to get the latest Metagrid version for my iPad, so I did the following and it all worked:
Full reset of my iPad
Installed Metagrid Pro, then restored my purchases
For me as well, the issue started after updating to the latest Logic Pro version.
You could try backing up your current Metagrid Pro setup on iCloud. This way you can restore it afterwards without losing anything.
The old Logic app I have is not the issue. It is not sitting in the applications folder. It is backed up in a zip file. I will try resetting Metagrid Pro as described using Terminal and report back.
Will also try resetting iPad but not sure what that would change in this specific instance.
I did install MetaGrid Pro to another app, what I also did was updated my iPad to 18.1.
Restored the MetaGrid from iCloud (It works well).
When I started MetaServer and executed first command from iPad it said it can not be excepted in Logic Pro X, that can be the main reason. I restarted MetaServer and the it asked me to Locate Logic Pro, I did and everything started to work fine.
Having the same issue. Updated to Logic 11.1 and now Metagrid stopped working. I tried the Terminal command and it did not help. I’m reluctant to reset my iPad or get rid of my older Logic copy. I need it for some projects. Also, I find it odd that just having the older Logic app in my application folder would cause these errors… Is there not a more elegant solution? I think we need insight from the Meta programers here. What exactly is the problem?
