Hi,
For Cubase, apart from my main Workspace and Grids, I have a separate workspace with Articulation Grids for different instruments which have Dynamic Focus Tracking enabled. For all my Workspaces, I have Override Dashboard Appearance turned On and the Grid Layout set to ‘Grid Only’.
Now, if happen to switch to my Articulation Workspace, everything works as expected, but if I go to a different app, the Grid for that app displays(as expected), but when I switch back to Cubase, my whole Override Dashboard Appearance setting goes for a toss and I can see the Side Bar, Top Bar Edit button etc.
The app icon that’s shown on the sidebar also shows the previously switched app and not Cubase. The actual grid contents and DFT works as expected though.
If I go back to my Main Workspace, everything is fine and if I switch back to my Articulations workspace, everything comes back to normal as well. But the issue comes back immediately as I switch to another app.
Interestingly, this issue doesn’t happen with my main Workspace/Grids. They both have practically the same settings(apart from DFT being off in my main workspace). Attaching a video demonstrating the issue.
I think, The last point in this Topic also happens to mention the same issue.
Thanks for the detailed reproduction steps and recording.
The distinction you describe is useful: the articulation grid and Dynamic Focus Tracking still work, but returning to Cubase restores the wrong dashboard appearance and leaves the previous application’s icon visible. Switching workspaces manually restores the expected appearance.
That points toward the dashboard not fully refreshing its workspace and application state, although we still need to establish the cause.
Could you try one comparison: temporarily turn off Dynamic Focus Tracking in the articulation workspace, then switch to another app and back to Cubase? Please let us know whether the appearance and icon problem still occurs, then restore your original setting.
Please also confirm your MetaGrid Pro and MetaServer versions and whether this is on an iPad or the Mac app.
The Nuendo report you linked may be related, but we’ll keep that connection provisional until we’ve checked the behavior.
I checked the behaviour as you suggested and a couple of more scenarios.
Issue doesn’t happen when DFT is turned off in the Articulation Grids
If I turn off Override Dashboard Appearance on Workspace, which would entail that Sidebar, Topbar, Edit button etc all are visible, the appearance & icon refresh back correctly to Cubase once I switch back from the other app.
I have a default articulation grid (which just says no articulations available) for tracks that don’t have articulation maps assigned. If I turn the Default Grid option, the issue doesn’t seem to happen and the Grid only layout which I have set seems to function correctly. Setting the Default Grid back on, brings the issue back as well.
