A couple of weeks ago I reported the iPad version as not found in the NZ apple store. Although it is now there in the App Store, the issue of the Mac version not working remains. The beta version installs, but insists I am signed into the US Apple Store which I am not (I am signed into the NZ store).. If the beta version is installed, then trying to download any version since 1.6.10 from the App Store results in about 75% progress and then it just hangs. If I delete the beta version then the download button in the App Store is non-responsive (after numerous restarts / sign-out/in etc).
Thanks for following up and for the detailed description ![]()
What you’re running into isn’t actually something specific to MetaGrid Pro itself, but a known quirk with Apple’s App Store when TestFlight betas and App Store builds overlap. Essentially, the App Store sometimes gets “confused” if there’s a beta installed (or was recently installed) and it tries to resolve entitlement differences across regions. That’s why you’re seeing the stuck download and the “US store” message even though you’re signed into NZ.
A couple of things that have helped other users in the same situation:
-
Fully remove the beta first
Delete the TestFlight build of MetaGrid Pro from your Mac.
-
Sign out and back into the App Store
In App Store → Store menu → Sign Out, then restart your Mac and sign back in with your NZ Apple ID.
-
Clear TestFlight linkage
In TestFlight, remove MetaGrid Pro from your tested apps list if it still shows.
-
Reinstall from App Store
Now try to download MetaGrid Pro again from the Mac App Store.
If it still hangs, the most reliable fix has been to:
-
Open the App Store on Mac.
-
Go to your Purchased list and download from there.
-
If that still fails, installing via a different network (hotspot or another Wi-Fi) sometimes clears the cache.
Unfortunately this is an Apple infrastructure issue, so it can be stubborn. But once the App Store cache clears and the beta/app store versions stop conflicting, downloads work normally again.
Let me know if this helps or if you’re still stuck — I can also raise this with Apple on my side, but usually these steps resolve it.
Thanks for that, that gives me a few things to try when I am back in front of my computer at the weekend.
Can I also check if there was any update from them on my issue of previous purchases not being unlocked? In my case the Logic Media Composer Grid (and I’m guessing the Photoshop grid as well although that doesn’t appear in the new Presets menu).
Thanks
Rob
Hi
I’ve been through each of the below steps, in the case of signing out and restarting I have done this twice, and this has not solved the problem. I click on the download button for Metagrid Pro and it does not respond. There are no apps listed now under TestFlight .I’m not sure what else to try.

Rob - so you don’t have access to any beta builds? Can you send us your email and we will check the TestFlight list (help@metagrid.app). Thanks!
As per the instructions I removed the MetaGrid beta from TestFlight, so I no longer have beta access. I have sent an email to be re-added.
I have now been able to successfully download MetaGrid from the App Store, but only after rolling back from Tahoe to Sequoia.
You have been re-added the Test Flight - let me know if it is ok on your side.
Yes that works, thanks
