Rename a macro in MG

I searched the docs, but could not find a way to rename my macro in MG. Attached are my screenshots. In Cubase, I change the name of ‘Macro1’ to ‘Test’. I then point MG server to the correct location of the macro.xml files, I then change the name in the macro.xml file. However, when I pull up MG and make a new button and look for ‘Test’ for my new button, it is not there. ‘Macro1’ is there still, and I can use that to still make the action happen (in this case delete).

How can I get MG to present the command ‘Test’ rather than ‘Macro1’?

Thanks. (edit: I did stop and restart the MG server)

This is a pic of MG with Macro1 still showing. This is where I would like to see ‘Test’ to make it easier to make buttons.

Have you closed and then reopened Metaserver after pointing it to the xml file? I think Metaserver will update the macro names only at the launch, but I’m not sure, it’s been a while I did this

Yes, I did restart the server and I just rebooted the computer and it still shows Macro1 not Test. Thanks.

Perhaps a silly question (as you would have likely already done this), but did you also restart MetaGrid Pro? Or the iPad (iPad should not be required though).

@christophertmusic LOL Not a silly question!! I forced shut MG on my ipad and that did it! You need to shut MG (full close not just minimize) and the server, to force MG to read the file again. Should have thought of that! THANKS!!
