I’m on iOS 15.8.3 and MGP 1.6.2 will not open. It gives the “migrating settings” image for a bit, then simply quits altogether. I’m running the new Metaserver 5.0.2 on the Mac side, running OS 13.6.6.
Update: I deleted the app and reinstalled it and it now opens, BUT… it won’t let me import any backups or grids. I’ve tried it from Dropbox and iCloud and it simply doesn’t see the files and there’s no way to navigate to them. Can you give the exact path where it is looking for the backups or grids?
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, even though I have put Workspace and Grid files in my iCloud folders using the paths you described, MGP on iPad is not seeing them. Nor does it seem to be able to see any backup files. I’m just getting a blank window after clicking on any of the import or restore backup options. Is it possible it does not read files created in an earlier version? If so, that would be a big problem. Maybe there’s a workaround to force it to see those files without importing them?
Go to Files on your iPad, go to iCloud Drive > MetaGrid Pro and check if the files you want to import are accessible in the corresponding location. Please confirm.
Yes, I’ve tried importing individual files from the content manager and tried to restore a backup. None of them show any files when you click import from iCloud.
Same behavior here on my iPad Mini. The iPad Pro works fine. I can’t import any profiles, grids… from the iPad Pro. The iPad Mini see’s the files that it has exported. But it doesn’t see the files that the iPad Pro exported.
@PianoKane If an iPad can see items that was exported by itself but no other iPad, it seems that the files are not correctly synchronized in the iCloud Drive. The exported files don’t have any information what device they come from - MetaGrid lists all the files with proper extension located in a respective folder. Make sure your iPad has these files in the iCloud Drive.
We have submitted MGP 1.6.3 for Apple review today - the Beta should be available today and the production version will be released this week.
Since we can’t replicate the iCloud Drive issues on our test systems and there have been no reports from the Beta testers regarding this issue, we have added extensive error handling system for iCloud Drive communication in 1.6.3 - if something is not correct with your iCloud Drive, you will see a respective alert telling you what’s wrong with this.
Regarding the Dropbox import/export - we have also added some additional logic and checks plus we secured some loopholes in the current implementation.
So let’s wait till 1.6.3 - thank you for your patience!
Hello. 1.6.3 is working with Dropbox now, but not iCloud. I’m not getting any error messages; the import screen (where the list of files should appear) is simply blank.
@ariacat Based on what you are reporting, your iCloud Drive folders seems to be empty - it there were some connection/folder/permission issues, these would be indicated by the new error handling mechanism. Are you 100% certain your iCloud Drive contains the files?
