Issue with Latching switches

1. Summary/Title
sending Midi Note On / Note Off (Button with “Latching-Switch”) - values get shifted after leaving Edit-Mode, copying respective buttons, or reopening Metagrid App!

2. Steps to Reproduce

  • Step 1: Create a button (Type: Latching Switch)
  • Step 2: Set Macro to send Midi Note On, (On Stage) say A#-1
  • Step 3: Set Macro to send Midi-Not Off, (Off Stage) say A#-1
  • Step 4: Copy this button and change the Midi-Note Values here to A-1
  • Step 5: Leave Edit Mode and see what these Button Send out

3. Expected Result
Sending Midi Note On and Note Off Messages at defined Keys (A#-1)

4. Actual Result
Metagrid corrupts randomly the Data type and Value of stored Midi-Messages (often it sends out Note On and Note On - instead of Note On - Note Off, and it often shifts the Note Value itself (Set to send A#-1 (On) & A#-1(Off), but it sends A#-1 (On) & F-1(Off)!
This happens when you leave Edit Mode, or/and Copying such Buttons, or Reopen Metagrid

6. Device Information

  • Operating System (OS version): MAC Sonoma 14.7.5
  • MetaGrid Pro version: Latest 1.6.9
  • Device Model (e.g., iPad, Mac): IPAD 7. Gen IOS 18.3.1
  • Affected software version (e.g., Cubase 14): Modo Bass (VST Plug-In & Stand Alone App)

7. Additional Notes

100%. MGP has an issue with overwriting macros with latching Switches. MGP seems to retain old data associated with Latching Switches and will randomly revert back to an old macro after relaunch. Beware!!!

I basically never copy a button’s macro over to another button anymore - I always uncheck Macro in ‘Style’ otherwise that macro will just reappear randomly later on. Check this video out of a Latching Switch with 4 random Macros that have ‘Latched’ onto it.
