Can my iPad connect to 2 different Metaservers?

Hi there,

I’ve been a TouchOSC user for many years and am converting to MetaGrid to see if I like it. So far so good, but very new to it!

A feature I love in TouchOSC is the ability to control Cubase on my Primary machine and Nuendo on my Secondary machine. This was set up using the IP address of each computer to identify which connection any given button was sending too.

Quick Example - Cubase Mac: Connection 1 | Nuendo Mac: Connection 2

  • A button to toggle on and off the Subframes view in the preferences which would send a CC message to connection 1 and connection 2. One button that keeps my transport view in sync between Cubase and Nuendo.
  • 3 Mute Toggle buttons for 3 different audio tracks. (Dialogue / SFX / MX) This CC message would only be sent to Connection 2.

Any ideas if this is doable?

Currently it is not possible - it has been requested though and on our To Do list - planned for 2026.

It is possible if you have two ipads, of course. I sometimes use one for main Daw and another for a server machine in a different room. The ability to select your metaserver instance is available when you first start Metagrid.
