Hi MetaGrid Pro Family,
Przemek here.
We’ve been quiet this summer, I know. That doesn’t mean we slowed down. It was actually one of the busiest stretches we’ve had. The 1.7 release cycle kept us on our toes, but most of our time went into something bigger.
MetaGrid Pro 2 is in the works
I’ve wanted to tell you this for months, so it feels great to finally write it down.
For a long time now, we’ve been collecting everything you’ve sent us: feedback, feature requests, the small annoyances, and the things that don’t work as well as they should. We took that list, put it next to our own ideas of where MetaGrid Pro should go, and started building.
Here are some of the highlights:
- iPhone support. MetaGrid Pro is coming to your iPhone.
- Multi-computer support. Connect and control several computers at the same time, with new background services in MetaServer handling the connections.
- A new foundation for your grids. A new document-based system brings faster grid operations, smaller export files, and new ways to organise and work with layouts.
- Auto-sync with user accounts. Your grids follow you across devices.
- A finer 48Ă—48 grid. More freedom to size and position your controls, with several snapping options to keep everything aligned.
- Grid variants. One grid can adapt to different device orientations and MetaGrid Pro window sizes.
- The new Meta-Controller. Encoders and faders with powerful motion options.
- A new Ribbon controller.
- A redesigned UI on almost every screen in the app.
…and there’s a lot more.
Where we are
The public beta opens in late October, and our goal is to have MetaGrid Pro 2 in your hands by Christmas 2026.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll share the major changes and the decisions behind them: what we were trying to solve, which options we looked at, and why we went the way we did. You’ve shaped this version with your feedback, so you should be able to see how it’s being put together.
Watching this come together in our dev lab, one piece at a time, has been amazing. We’re getting close to beta, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Keep your fingers crossed. The next three months are going to be good.
Greetings from MetaGrid Pro Team ![]()
