[Beta Verification] Main-window AI selection creates Mac-only macros

I see that you can use AI when pressing the macro builder for Windows in the edit screen. If you can, on the main windows when it says AI for selection to build, make a choice for Apple or Windows (maybe in settings)

Thank you for reporting this. I checked the implementation and confirmed that the main-window AI-for-selection flow does not handle the target platform correctly.

The AI prompt recognizes a connected Windows computer and can generate Windows-appropriate actions, but the main-window flow currently saves the generated macros as macOS macros. The AI option inside the macro editor already preserves its selected platform, which explains the difference you observed.

This is scheduled to be fixed in MetaGrid Pro 1.7.4. The main-window AI flow will use the connected computer’s platform by default and will provide a Mac/Windows choice when the target is not clear or when you want to build for another platform.

I will update this topic when the 1.7.4 build is ready for verification.

Status update: this correction has been implemented and is currently included in the MetaGrid Pro 1.7.4 Hot Fix beta.

This post is primarily an informational update for everyone following this issue. If you are already a member of the beta program, you are welcome to verify the correction and report the result here. If you are not a beta tester, no action is required—the correction is planned for the upcoming production hotfix.

The beta downloads and TestFlight build are available only to authorized beta testers, so the linked beta resources may show “Access denied” for other forum members.

Beta testers can test the new macOS/Windows target selector while connected to both host types and while disconnected. Confirm that standard buttons, menu buttons, pasted macros, and regenerated macros retain the selected platform.
