This is a pretty huge update for being two decimal points in. It leaves me wondering what’s cooking for 1.7!
So far -
The Good:
• The new editing system is BRILLIANT. A total evolution over the old. It took about 15 minutes to get used to it, but once it clicked it was clear how well it works. It cuts grid-building time in half, at minimum. As part of that…
• The Tiling function makes bulk layout changes and moves ridiculously simple. A+
• Paste Style allowing for bulk style changes is a colossal time-saver. You can re-design 100 buttons in a couple minutes or less. So good.
The Not-So-Good:
Undo didn’t work. At all. I built a new grid for sorting files and across all the different tasks and functions I used while doing that, every Undo was a bust.
• Text Background Color does not return to the chosen color in the Palette menu when you change the color.
Bugs?
• If a newer iPad is not set to “More Space” mode in the Display options, grids appear off-center and are slightly chopped off on the right side of the screen. My older iPad was fine.
That’s what I’ve found for now. In terms of what I’ve used, all other functionality is good to go. More later if anything comes up.
I’m really liking the button press visual feedback for normal buttons. I was about to post here and request better visual feedback than the old darkened colour feedback.
On the down side:
Something is up with the fader behaviour. Before I could touch anywhere on the fader and the cap would jump to that position. Now this doesn’t work. I have tried all the options in settings. Also, the ‘Relative To Finger’ works the first time a fader is touched after the grid is displayed regardless of the settings. Then the ACTUAL settings work on the second touch. And why have two settings available that counter each other?. When one is activated the other should be disabled IMO i.e. have ‘Relative To Finger’ OR ‘Reacts To Cap Touch Only’ but not both.
I’m getting the odd disconnect/ immediate reconnect here and there with one of my iPads.
There seems to be an increase in grids disappearing/reappearing/flashing when I switch apps on my PC. DFT is switched off.
Still not satisfied with the connectivity on Windows with multiple iPads.
I 've observed the Grid Off centre/ Right Side getting slightly chopped issue as well. I couldn’t find the “More Space” mode in the Display Option, could please point me in the right direction? Although, for me changing the ‘Object Padding’ to anything other than ‘Small’ seems to alleviate the issue.
Go to Settings>Display & Brightness>Display Zoom. If it’s not there it may be because it’s a new capability in iOS 26. I don’t have an iPad running iOS 18 anymore so I’m not sure. However, based on your comment it might be an issue related to Silicon or latest-generation iPads because my older Intel iPad wasn’t affected by either display size or object padding choices.
Thanks for clarifying I was looking for that setting in MGP
Anyway, I checked my iPad settings, it is set to ‘More Space’. So, on my side at least, the issue still happened with this setting on. As I mentioned earlier, The Object Padding change helped as the workaround for me. I have the M2 iPad Pro and running the latest iPad OS 26. May be the devs can look into this.
Thanks for the response! That’s strange that it doesn’t help on your iPad, but works on mine. The additional thing I noticed is that even in ‘more space’ mode, the bottom of the grid sits so close to the home bar that it’s near-impossible to activate it and swipe up without activating the buttons just above it. So, every time I close the MGP window a bunch of stuff happens on my computer!
Notice how close the home bar is to the buttons in both modes. It’s almost impossible to swipe up the home bar without activating the button(s) above where you’re swiping from.
MGP 1.6.14.35631 - MetaServer 5.3.3.3020
All of these are set to ‘Object Padding: Small’
Last-generation Intel iPad Pro (11”), iOS 26.1 - ‘Display-Normal’ Active: OFF CENTER
