MetaGrid 1.6.18 released

:hammer_and_wrench: MetaGrid Pro 1.6.18 is here

Some bugs are easy to catch. These weren’t. A few sneaky issues slipped past our beta testers and never showed up on our own devices — but we know they were real, because some of you ran into them. We heard you, we dug deep, and we fixed them.

Here’s what’s been sorted out:

:mobile_phone: Duplicate Device Identity — If you set up two iPads from the same backup, they could end up sharing the same device ID, causing one to keep disconnecting. Fixed!

:electric_plug: USB Reconnection — Restarting the app could sometimes leave a ghost of the previous USB session behind, blocking reconnection. Gone now.

:antenna_bars: WiFi Auto-Connect — Auto-connect could occasionally latch onto a stale IP address instead of the server’s actual reachable one. Not anymore.

:desktop_computer: Mac Catalyst Stability — A transient network hiccup on Mac could take down all connected clients at once. We’ve made the connection handling much more resilient.

Even after updating, my iPad still will not connect. MetaServer reads that my iPad is connected but my computer does not show up in MG as an available device.

@Daniel_01 Can you share MetaGrid Pro logs as well when you try to connect?

1.6.17 has been running flawlessly with three ipads. Pretty impressive, guys. This update is hefty. Everything’s snappier, too. Whatever was left of my screen flicker is gone and re-connect has been far more responsive. I haven’t had to restart MGP to re-connect since updating. :+1:

I shall submit a support ticket so as not to clog this thread :+1:

I’m having the same issue. Server v6.0.0 (Mac), app v1.6.18. Since upgrading, it doesn’t connect. The iPad can SEE my Mac, but the connections fail every time.
