Resetting MetaServer’s Permissions for Mac Automation
If you’re having trouble with MetaServer not communicating properly with Logic Pro or Keyboard Maestro, you might need to reset its permissions. Here’s how to do it:
Close MetaServer
Make sure MetaServer is closed before proceeding. This helps ensure that permissions are properly reset.
Open Terminal:
• Click on the Spotlight Search (magnifying glass in the top-right corner of your screen).
• Type “Terminal” and press Enter.
Reset Permissions:
• Copy and paste the following command into the Terminal window, then press Enter:
tccutil reset AppleEvents Metasystem.MetaServer
This will reset MetaServer’s permission to control other applications. Don’t worry—this just means your Mac will ask you for permission again when MetaServer tries to connect with Logic Pro or Keyboard Maestro.
Reauthorize MetaServer:
• Open MetaServer, connect MetaGrid Pro and perform any action that should control with Logic Pro or trigger Keyboard Maestro macros.
• When prompted, click OK or Allow to re-authorize MetaServer.
is there something else needed from me that might help solve my issue of failed KM integration? (It’s been posted for 8 days while admin is responding promptly to other posts.)
A bit of additional info…
After running the above procedure in Terminal, the terminal window reads, “Successfully reset AppleEvents approval status for Metasystem.MetaServer.” I’m later prompted to re-authorize MetaServer and I click OK.
Metagrid Pro on iPad IS triggering macros when pressing previously set up button. However, when I try to set up additional button, I tap [Add] then [Keyboard Maestro]. The action inserted reads “No Data From Server.” I tap the action and tap [Refresh]. The screen reads “Refreshing the macro list…” but the Category and Command list remain blank.
After several attempts, the iPad screens reads “Can’t Refresh Macros…go to System Pref’s…Automation.” (I tried unchecking and rechecking Keyboard Maestro in Automation and restarting Mac and iPad.)
Hi jamag - my apologies for overlooking this post. We are currently analyzing this. Is it possible for you to reinstall KM and see if it helps (first backup up your KM library of course)?
