[Fixed] Grid Sync restored after updating to MetaGrid Pro 1.7.3

Since 1.7.2 I’m not able to use the grid sync feature. If I try to invoke it, I get the usual pop-up that asks me if I want to sync the grid with the other iPad, that it is connected to the network. However, if I tap OK, nothing happens on the other iPad. Is this a known bug that will be fixed on 1.7.3?

Thanks for the report. First, please update both iPads to MetaGrid Pro 1.7.3 and install the latest MetaServer:

  • MetaServer Mac 6.1.3, or
  • MetaServer Windows 6.0.3

After updating, open Settings → MetaServer → Controller ID on each iPad and assign a different name, for example “Studio iPad 1” and “Studio iPad 2.” Both iPads must be connected to the same MetaServer, and the destination iPad must appear in the Grid Sync destination list.

Please also let me know whether you use MetaServer on Mac or Windows.

If both Controller IDs are unique and the transfer still does nothing, please reproduce it once and send us the MetaGrid Pro support package from both iPads plus the MetaServer logs. I will use those logs to trace the destination list, transfer routing, and receiving-device import.

Different names to the two iPads were already assigned. Grid Sync just started working again after upgrading to Metagrid Pro 1.7.3, thanks!

Thanks for confirming. I’m glad Grid Sync started working again after the upgrade to MetaGrid Pro 1.7.3. This topic is now marked Fixed and closed.
