Cannot find computer on network

Hello,
I am using MetaGrid Pro 1.6.2 (build: 27802), with MetaServer 5.0 (build 2481).
After migrating my database, the iPad app scanned the network to connect to my Mac but didn’t find any (why? I don’t know, they are on the same network and 10cm one from the other and 1.5m from the router).
I tried to add the Mac with the QR code and got the error “Can’t find this computer on your network 4.0.0.0 or later”.
What does this mean?
How do I recover access to the app?

Thank you!

I had this same issue. I solved it by making sure none of the options within the “network” tab in METASERVER were selected. I previously had “USB Connection only” selected as only my iPad was involved. I believe that blocked my mac desktop app from connecting. I have all of the options in that network window de-selected [not selected] and then all worked perfectly with both my iPad AND the desktop app.

I’m sorry this is not clear, but I am not talking about the Mac app.
The non-working app is the iPad app.
It is saying it cannot find the computer on the network.
Support suggested to trash everything MetaServer and start again, but no luck, still the same.

EDIT: I went to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > noticed that MetaServer was switched off, perhaps after updating to macOS Sequoia from Sonoma.
Now it works, though only through TCP network it seems.

@NotationMaster That’s a very useful piece of information for troubleshooting. I have included it here:
