It may be due to the fact that Metaserver was just sitting on close to 19GB of RAM in the Task Manager. But MGP will stop responding to button taps temporarily and then, because I have tapped the same button a few times, Metaserver will unload all those commands at once. This just happened to me dozens of times.
I am currently observing the RAM leak in real time. About 2 MB a second.
This memory leak is frustrating indeed - we can’t replicate it on our test systems - there has to be some modifier - in some other post I asked you to do some experimenting to help use figure out what’s on on your system.
Does MetaServe starts leaking when you are not connected? Immediately when you connect? Or when you go to Cubase / use MIDI etc.
It leaks even when I’m not connected.
So I just establishes that the responsiveness is directly related to the RAM leakage. I quit Metaserver and the MGP behaviour mentioned above stopped completely. It was basically unusable until I quit and relaunched Metaserver.
Good - that’s a good info - now we have to pin point the leak source. This is top of our priorities now.
