Light themes - share your ideas

We’re deep into porting our presets to the new system that’s coming in MetaGrid Pro 1.6.10. Some of them are even getting a substantial facelift.

The Adobe Lightroom preset is one of the first to land — with a completely revamped layout, refined actions, and 5 fresh color themes.

One of them is a Light Gray scheme — clean, modern, and surprisingly useful when editing photos. We think it looks gorgeous.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Now we’d love to hear from you:

Do you ever use lighter backgrounds for your grids, or do you stick with the dark side?
And if you’re on the light side, share a screenshot — we’d love to see it!
Do you think we should include the lighter themes in the future presets?

:speech_balloon: Drop your answer in the comments — we’re curious how you work.

I only use MG for Cubase, and my screen is not light. I would be interested in seeing it that way, although, not very light, more like grey in the manner you have it shown. I don’t use black background and white text, as it hurts my eyes, my background is a dark aqua blue and my text is light aqua blue.

I have a few paper-like grids I’m working up. Sometimes that’s a pleasant thing to see in the midst of the modern, and also my composer desk is wood (I made it) so it doesn’t feel incongruous. There a are a few libraries in the upcoming Control Series that I am going to try a lighter look with, because they suit the feel of the library.

It is gorgeous. I’ve got my ipad between my keyboard and big monitor, and while I’d be open to trying somewhat lighter layouts, I find it’s comfortable to use dark layouts so as not to distract from whatever I’m working on in the big monitor. I also find myself using colors (sometimes subtle, for groups, or not-subtle for oft-used buttons) to help navigation in different layouts. All that grey? I’d alter it with some subtle color
