Feature Request: Gesture Tempo Adjustment

Currently I am trying to figure out a way to adjust a tempo event on the tempo track with metagrid pro.
I would love to be able to emulate the ‘Tempo Knob’ on the Nektar CS12.
This knob adjusts the tempo event (left of the playhead) by +1/-1 or by holding the shift button with, it adjusts it in smaller increments.
My current solution is a crude way using Keyboard Maestro (locate image and click the up/down arrows on the tempo track) . It would be awesome if Metagrid Pro could do this with a gesture pad. 1 finger adjusts event by 1, and 2 fingers adjusts it by smaller increments.

This is a very useful tool when scoring to picture and having it in a Metagrid Pro setup would be lovely.
The Cubase Selected Channel template is my much prefered method over using the CS12, however i am just missing that tempo knob. =)

Thanks,
Kevin

Good news — you can already do this with the current version of MetaGrid Pro.

Cubase provides “Tempo: Increase” and “Tempo: Decrease” commands (each trigger adjusts the tempo by 1 BPM). You can assign those to key commands in Cubase, and then trigger them from a Gesture Pad in MetaGrid Pro.

Here’s how you can set it up:

• One-finger vertical pan up → Tempo Increase

• One-finger vertical pan down → Tempo Decrease

For finer control, assign the same commands to a two-finger vertical pan, but lower the gesture sensitivity. That way:

• 1 finger = normal adjustment

• 2 fingers = finer, more controlled adjustment

The difference in feel comes from gesture sensitivity — not from stacking multiple commands — which keeps it precise and reliable for scoring work.

This gives you hardware-style tempo nudging without needing Keyboard Maestro or UI scripting.

Let me know if you’d like help dialing in the sensitivity for the best feel.

And this will be a perfect use scenario for the endless encoder that will come in MetaGrid Pro 1.7 :-).

Thanks so much for the reply. This is exactly how i planned on doing it when first attempting, but no where in my key commands in Cubase 15 can i find the “Tempo: Increase” and “Tempo: Decrease” commands. Google says it should be under the transport section, but it is not. a search for it in the key commands window turns up nothing.

Also it says that these 2 commands are only available if using it when project is in fixed tempo mode, not while using Tempo Track.

After some research I have learned that both “Tempo: Increase” and “Tempo: Decrease” commands, are no longer there.
