I’m on Windows and am not sure how to get this working. Any help would be appreciated.
I Googled it and there was something about the Cubase Sync Port being activated in Metaserver. But the only ports available in Metaserver are the usual Bome and Metagrid In/Out etc.
I added a Mackie Control to my Studio Setup as per another user suggested, downloaded the app specific XML’s and imported them into the Generic Remote and set the ports to Metagrid In/Out etc. I created a Gesture Pad with Time Display set as the macro pointed at Cubase. But nothing seemed to get it working.
I’m not at home right now and I will not return there until tomorrow, so I can’t check what port I’m using now on my PC, but I think it’s the basic Metasystem Cubase port that you have to use for the Mackie Control Out. Please keep in mind that right now you can’t get the Timecode display, you only get the Bars and Beat display.
Anyway I’ll check tomorrow for the actual port name and post it here
On PC I created the port in loopMIDI.
Only one port Is needed since the communication is unidirectional in this case, on the Mackie Control I’ve created in Cubase, the MIDI input is not connected.
Hope this helps
Hmmm… I created the new port in loopMIDI, but it isn’t showing up in Cubase, Metaserver or Bome. And this is after a PC, Cubase, loopMIDI and Bome restart.
Are you sure Metaserver is starting AFTER loopMIDI? On my PC I don’t have Metaserver automatically load on boot, I launch it manually after my PC has started. Have you recently updated Windows? I know there are several problems with virtual MIDI ports on the recent Windows 11 update. I haven’t updated Windows in a while.
Also, if you want, I can send you the Cubase grid where I have the gesture pad and you can see if it works for you.
You don’t need to create a gesture pad, the object you need to create is a label, then in the label option check the show timecode option
