# Key switches not being triggered correctly

Having a weird issue. Hope the hive mind can help.
I’m setting up my Cubase Orchestral template, and working through the very long arduous process of building instrument grids for each and every one of my orchestral instruments. I can select, for instance, strings, then see a list of all my strings libraries, and then drill into Spitfire Audio BBCSO Violins 1. I then get to a grid specifically for that instrument, along with all its articulations.
I’m testing it out currently, and i have buttons for all 20 articulations within BBCSO Pro Violins 1; Legato, Long CS, Spiccato etc etc. The macro simply plays a note, for example “Note C-2(0) vel: 127 Ch:1” for legato
The problem is that sometimes the clicks aren’t registering at all and i have to press the button again. Other times it will just randomly pick a different note instead and i have to press the button again to get it to select the right key switch.
Also, this WiFi connection constantly dropping out is starting to get very annoying indeed!

Currently I just have some of my spitfire libraries in there. I click Violins 1:
And here you see all the articulations for it. Next pic shows the macro. Maybe that’s where it’s going wrong;

SOLVED:
OK, so i was stupid to think that this would be a Metagrid issue. I’d also posted on the Cubase forum as it’s clearly an issue with the latest Expression Maps system in Cubase 15. There’s an ongoing issue with Expression maps not working correctly and Steinberg don’t appear to be addressing it.
HOWEVER…
There is a solution!
Whereas before you only needed to send a note ON to trigger a keyswitch (worked perfectly in Cubase 14), you now also need to send a note OFF on a small delay when you press the button. Without it, Cubase 15 Expression Maps get hideously lost and try and layer keyswitches together, move keyswitch locations up by XX semitones, or just flat out refuse to use any previously recorded keyswitches.
This simple fix (which i’ve now got to copy and paste to every single instrument i own) has now unbroken my workflow.
Following on from that, if anyone would like my completed grids (once they’re done), please do let me know. I’m only going to be making Grids for the following:
