# Can't find my grid on the ipad

Hello, I’m a new customer and just purchased lifetime access.
I’m using a MacBook Pro M4 and have MetaServer installed and running. Both my MacBook and iPad are on the same Wi-Fi network.
In MetaGrid Pro on my iPad, I can see my MacBook listed and I can connect to it, but once connected, I don’t see any of my grids — only the default empty ones appear.
I’ve followed all the steps in the manual carefully

after fiddling for an hour I figured I had to make a backup from my laptop then restore this backup in the ipad to have the setup there withe same grids. But this doesn’t seems really intuitive to me, should I only edit my metagrip setup on my ipad from now on ? or can I edit it on the laptop and have it synced?

You can edit grids on Mac and iPad - export/impor or sync them later. Please make sure you understand the concept of profiles, workspaces, scenes and grids - the Setup Guide is your friend, also you can watch this:
