I just updated to the latest versions and am liking all the new midi remote updates. However, i’m having issues setting up “bypass inserts” or “bypass sends”.
I previously had these as my custom buttons where by I could bypass all inserts or all sends on a selected track. Any ideas?
Previously, I would create a button, then edit, and click on “Macro”. Then choose “Add”, choose “Cubase” under Daw Integration, and then choose “Bypass: Inserts”. When I click done, I see that the button registers midi data with cubase, but nothing happens when I press it.
Im on macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 One thing I noticed, it seems I’m missing the meta systems remote devices xml. I remember there were supposed to be some xml files here? Can someone confirm? Thanks
The legacy MetaSystem Remote Devices XML files are not required for these commands. Bypass: Inserts and Bypass: Sends are handled by the MetaGrid Pro Commands MIDI Remote script.
Please try the following:
Update to MetaServer Mac 6.1.5.
Open MetaServer’s Cubase integration page and reinstall both MIDI Remote scripts.
In Cubase’s MIDI Remote Manager, confirm that MetaGrid Pro Commands is present and assigned to:
Input: Metasystem - Cubase - In
Output: Metasystem - Cubase - Out
In Cubase’s Key Commands window, search for Bypass: Inserts and Bypass: Sends and confirm that both commands are available.
Test them on an audio or instrument track containing an active insert or send.
The MIDI assignments in MetaGrid Pro and the supplied Cubase script match correctly, so Cubase registering incoming MIDI does not by itself confirm that the MetaGrid Pro Commands surface has loaded and bound these controls.
If the commands still do not work, please post a screenshot of the MetaGrid Pro Commands entry and its port assignments in Cubase’s MIDI Remote Manager. Please also include your exact Cubase version.
