On previous version I had no issues at all. that is the MG apps system still the same.

MG pro, MAC Version 1.7.2 (35812)2. Steps to Reproduce
MG pro Ipad, 1.7.2 build 35811

Confirmed. To be fixed in 1.7.3

We have implemented several improvements to sleep, wake, and screen-saver handling, and we have now moved the focused lifecycle refactor into the MetaGrid Pro 1.7.4 release cycle.

This work covers the persistent black-screen behavior, Mac and iPad wake ordering, and reconnection over USB and Wi-Fi. Keeping it in a focused release will allow us to test these workflows thoroughly before the larger MetaGrid Pro 1.8 update.

I will update this thread when the 1.7.4 build is ready for verification.

Status update: this correction has been implemented and is currently included in the MetaGrid Pro 1.7.4 Hot Fix beta with MetaServer Mac 6.1.4 Beta 1.

This post is primarily an informational update for everyone following this issue. If you are already a member of the beta program, you are welcome to verify the correction and report the result here. If you are not a beta tester, no action is required—the correction is planned for the upcoming production hotfix.

The beta downloads and TestFlight build are available only to authorized beta testers, so the linked beta resources may show “Access denied” for other forum members.

Beta testers can download the server beta from https://forum.metagrid.app/t/latest-metaserver-beta-builds and repeat the original wake sequence. Please also test short and extended sleep, screen saver, and Mac lock recovery, then report whether the grid returns normally or still shows a black screen.
